A special presentation was made at McNab-Braeside Council Tuesday.
Mayor Lori Hoddinott was presented with a Provincial Award for Excellence in Municipal Law.
Not only did she get the highest mark in the two-year program, 94.7%, but she’s the first elected municipal leader ever to be so recognized.
Deputy Mayor Scott Brum made the announcement.
The Deputy Mayor reads from the notice.
AMCTO stands for the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks and Treasurers of Ontario.
AMCTO has been in the business of offering these, and other similar opportunities since 1938 through its education, accreditation, and leadership programs.
Hoddinott’s participation wasn’t just to cop the award. Says the Mayor, “I am doing these programs to better understand how the wheels turn in our municipality, so I can make better, fully informed decisions on behalf of our residents…”
The two-year program included studies in: Introduction to Municipal Law, Municipal Torts, Municipal Contracts, and Municipal Land Use Law.
The Township congratulates Mayor Hoddinott on this exceptional achievement and thanks her for her continued commitment to professional development and good governance in McNab/Braeside.
