Everyone has their own reasons for choosing to participate in the “Fan for Life” program, offered as part of the Nick Smith Centre rehabilitation.
For a 500 dollar cost you can have one of the arena’s new seats embellished with your name, or that of a loved one. It doesn’t reserve that seat for your use- but it is an opportunity to share your civic pride or preserve the memory of a cherished family member.
In Gerry and Nancy Glofcheskie’s case, the contribution extols the memory of their daughter Grace Olivia, for whom the Nick Smith Centre was an integral part of her young life.
“Grace grew up just two streets over from the NSC. Early on, she took swimming and figure skating lessons.
She was part of CanSkate. played ringette, and simultaneously participated in both girls and boys minor hockey. Her AMHA PeeWee team won the House League B Championship in 2004, and Grace wore the ‘C’ in her for the Midget Girls Championship Team in 2009…”
Fan for Life seats are available until June 25th.
