Arnprior:
Tomorrow: The Arnprior Lions Club’s Annual Jail and Bail Event is coming up Saturday June 14th at the Giant Tiger Parking Lot form 10AM to 4PM. One of the culprits behind bars is the Valley’s own Wayne Rostad! For more information call Lion Don Gougeon at 613-299-8704.
The final of a series of Red Pine Bay Car Shows goes tomorrow in Braeside from 10AM to 3PM. Free admission, and a BBQ will benefit Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home.
Artist-in-Residence Natalie Kauffman presents a talk from 2-4PM that focuses on growing up in the dysfunctional decade of the 1970s. Her installation, “Book on a Wall” explores themes of the lived experience of being a child exposed to communal living, anti-establishmentarianism, self-expression, free love, and mind-altering substances. Caution: One strong word is included in this exhibit.
Mississippi Mills:
Today: Pakenham Drop-In Coffee Time happens at the Library Branch from 10-1130AM
The Conversational French Club is on at the Almonte Library Branch from 10:30 to 1130AM
Tomorrow: Yoga in the Park, A Participaction Challenge Event happens at the Park in Pakenham from 10-11AM.
The Mississippi Mills Youth Centre Community BBQ takes place from 1130AM-1:30 PM at the Centre at 134 Main Street East.
The Pakenham Horticultural Society’s 100th Anniversary Summer Flower Show and Strawberry Social occurs from 2-4PM at 2584 County Road 29.
Attend an Author Talk at 2PM at the Almonte Library Branch. Dan Brisebois will discuss his latest Gardening tome.
Paddle the Mississippi River at Appleton is a Participaction Challenge Event that begins at 2PM from 510 River Road. Be sure to bring your life jacket, safety kit and water bottle.
The Almonte Fair’s Spring Dance with the Glen Silverson Band happens at the Agricultural Hall, 195 Water Street, starting at 8PM, celebrating 4-H Square Dancing Achievement Night. Admission is $20 at the door.
Carleton Place:
Tomorrow: Carleton Place Farmers’ Markets are now on every Saturday from 830AM to 1230PM at Market Square, Rain or Shine.
Local Sports:
