A sneak peek at the main Guitars and Gasoline stage
With the Guitars and Gasoline Music Festival getting underway this weekend at Calabogie Motorsports Park, the team behind the scenes is working hard to make the experience as hassle-free as possible.
We caught up with showrunner Cory Klinkenberg for his suggestions on how to get the most out of your chance to experience an all-star, all-Canadian lineup including Blue Rodeo, Josh Ross, plus Theory of a Deadman, The Trews, and more once the gates open just after noon on Friday.
His first piece of advice is to plan ahead, whichever way you intend to get to the venue, as people making the drive to Calabogie can make it easy for gate attendants to find their parking or camping spot by grabbing passes and tickets from will call ahead of time.
Or, if you intend on drinking and want a safe way to get to and from the event, Klinkenberg says options are available heading across most of the Ottawa Valley for the same price as a parking pass.
Once settled, guests are encouraged to use the racetrack as their path towards the general admission area located at the course’s infamous quarry turn, a trip that Klinkenberg says is just a few minutes of walking away from any of the lots with help from staff and signage.
Lastly, guests might benefit from taking a second to look over the Guitars and Gasoline website for detailed rules in place for both the general admission and camping areas, including prohibited items and activities, the policy on alcohol and smoking, and several public safety concerns like accommodating early exits from the venue.
Concert staff are available to field questions and concerns ahead of time via email or at a number of hospitality areas located around the racecourse during the show.
