The stage is set for another Walk-Run for Women’s a Newborn Health tomorrow in Almonte.
Vaia Dimas is the Executive Director of the Almonte General Hospital Fairview Manor Foundation.
Dimas says it’s not hard to explain, and it’s important for a wide catchment that includes the Oldies coverage area.
That means many people’s birth certificates list Almonte as their place of origin.
Vaia says a lot of people come together for the Run-Walk, which fills a crucial need.
Because of the expected level of participation, there’s free parking and a free shuttle service to bring you to and fro.
Vaia Dimas says the hospital grounds draw both participants, and spectators.
Babies “race” in two non-competitive categories.
For the adults there are several different ways to walk, or run.
In the dozen years the Walk-Run has been held, the totals raised have been most impressive.
Self-register through the link on the Foundation’s website until 9AM Saturday.
