Thursday’s the big day for the 55+ Expo in Mississippi Mills! It’s a partnership between Home Hospice North Lanark and the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, and supports healthy, independent living in the community. The showcase takes place June 5th from 10AM to 3PM at the John Levi Community Centre in Almonte. The free event includes: engaging speakers; interactive workshops; local exhibitors, and hands-on resources for living well.

Come to Gemmill Park on Thursday, June 5th at 630PM for a FREE class on Restoring Natural Movement. This class is being led by Vicky James Lafleur from Unstuck Physiotherapy! It’s one of the June Participaction Events Challenges.
An Evening of Fascinating True Stories presents Globe and Mail journalist and author Eric Andrew-Gee who will be discussing the careers of two neurologists who charted a path to revolutionize Neurosurgery. A Four-week Life Drawing Workshop course is being offered by JB Arts on Thursdays in June, from 7-10PM. Drawing from a live model, the class will explore various drawing methods, beginning with different ways to approach compositional sketches and expression. Next we move into defining proportions and refining the figure drawing. Lastly we explore shading or backgrounds. No experience is required. The Charity Golf Tournament for Lanark County Interval House and Community Support happens at the Mississippi Mills Golf Club from 11AM to 6PM. It’s the second annual such event.
