If we can make it to the next Flood Warning Update…
The current MNR Bulletin is set to expire Friday, and was based on precipitation accumulation forecasts of 15mm over the current five-day period.
Recent rainfall combined with warmer temperatures has melted most of the remaining snow locally, but remnants of the snowpack through the northern portion of the Ottawa river watershed are expected to maintain the river’s elevated levels and flows.
Residents along the main stem of the Ottawa and upstream any merging tributaries should assess their situations.
Minor flooding has already occurred from Temiskaming to Britannia, but under present conditions, major flooding is not anticipated.
If you’ve been affected by flooding in the past, please take the necessary precautions to secure your property. Use caution when near bodies of water and keep children and pets under supervision.
