Four area residents are facing drug charges after members of the Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop in Pembroke.
On April 5, around 8:20 p.m., officers stopped a passenger vehicle on Everett Street. Suspected cocaine, along with items typically associated with drug trafficking, were seized by police during the traffic stop.
As a result of this investigation a 31-year-old Chalk River resident, a 23-year-old Arnprior resident, a 28-year-old Laurentian Valley Township resident, and a 27-year-old from Pembroke are each facing a charge of possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The Chalk River resident faces an additional charge for failing to surrender his licence.
The accused individuals were all released and are scheduled to appear in Pembroke court May 5.
