With the arrival of spring, the Ottawa Valley Recreational Trail (OVRT)/Algonquin Trail is now closed to all motorized vehicles until further notice.
The OVRT will open reopen to motorized vehicles on May 1.
This includes both the County of Renfrew and Lanark County sections.
“As the trail transitions into warmer weather, please respect the seasonal closure to prevent damage, allow for annual maintenance and ensure safety for all users. Walkers, cyclists, and other non-motorized users—enjoy the trail!” reads a notice. “Thank you for doing your part to protect this shared space. Spread the word!”
