The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority has placed the watershed under a Flood Watch.
A spring storm forecasted from Friday into Monday, will bring a mix of snow, freezing rain and rain, complicating the already high water levels in the catchment area.
Although widespread flooding is not expected, flooding in low-lying areas and areas with poor drainage is possible.
If you live in a flood prone area, keep a close watch on your property and make certain sump pumps are working and have a backwater valve.
Assure that a portable generator and backup pump are available.
Clear downspouts on your property and remove or secure items that may float away.
