With the better weather, it’s time to give your dog a refresher course on when not to wear a leash.
The rules in Carleton Place say dogs are only permitted to be off-leash at the community dog parks, or on private property.
There are two dog parks in Carleton Place: the Edmund Street Dog Park, on Edmund Street North and the Roy Brown Dog Park at the end of Lake Avenue West.
To ensure a safe and positive experience for all residents, please keep your dog(s) on leash during walks through community parks and along all trails.
Dogs are not permitted to be off-leash on any trails or in any community parks.
As well, note that off-leash play in fenced ball diamonds and playgrounds is not permitted.
Remember your part of the deal is the scooper; keep the parks and trails Of Carleton Place clean by picking up after your animal during every walk.
