The Upper Ottawa Valley (UOV) detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is launching a new initiative to promote community awareness through reusable bags. With the help of MARC Group Inc. and local businesses, the OPP will distribute these bags at upcoming events in the detachment area.
Each bag features advertisements from local businesses, supporting the initiative. On one side of the bag, a message from the UOV OPP detachment offers important information for the community. One bag will focus on property crime prevention, while the other will address the ongoing opioid crisis in the region.
Detachment Commander, Acting Inspector Steve Bosa, explained, “The messaging on these bags is just another tool we are incorporating to make our citizens aware and to act as a reminder of our continued effort to do everything we can to combat these serious issues facing our communities.”
