Highway 17 has become the focal point of a major traffic campaign involving police ranging from the Valley to the Nation’s Capital.
Officers with the OPP Detachments in Renfrew and Arnprior, the Upper Ottawa Valley, and Ottawa worked together to lay a total of 64 charges and 19 written warnings ahead of the weekend, including 58 speeding infractions.
They also wrote up commuters on one stunt driving charge, two failures to move over for an emergency vehicle, and one instance of driving without a permit, among others.
