
Coincidence or not, the Provincial Election and the deadline to file appeal on the recommended severance of 20 acres of Galilee Centre property to developer Cavanagh Homes is February 27th for both.
That’s Save the Grove Again Committee Chair, Lacey Smith.
Lacey says municipal authorities have been uploading the blame for local inertia to Queen’s Park.
While the point may be moot, Lacey agrees all levels of government should be concerned with the potential harm to our old growth forest.
The Save the Grove Again Committee is polling our local candidates in Renfrew-Nipissing-Pembroke as to where they stand.
A questionnaire has been sent to each of the nominees, with a response deadline of this coming Monday, February 24th.
Lacey Smith says wherever you live in the riding, protecting its natural features and attractions should be something that’s on your mind when you vote.
