
Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: Tuesday marked the first day of construction for renovations at Arnprior’s Nick Smith Centre, and the Glenn Arthur Arena is now closed- with the Bert Hall Arena to join it March 16th. Other aspects of the Recreation facility and Community Hall will continue uninterrupted.

The Arnprior Rivermen tied an elimination game against the Pontiac Senior Comets with 20 seconds to go Monday in Fort Coulonge, then won it 3-2 with six minutes to go in OT. The Rivermen will host the third and deciding game in this round of the EOSL Playoffs on Friday February 21st at the Nick Smith Centre at 7:30PM. Don’t miss this exciting match up. Mississippi Mills:
Today: The Mississippi Mills Business Breakfast occurs from 7AM to 9AM at the Almonte Civitan Hall. The theme of the breakfast is Dementia Friendly Communities and will feature a presentation from the Alzheimer Society Lanark Leeds Grenville.
Baby Time features songs, rhymes and stories for children up to 12 months with a caregiver at the Library, 155 High Street in Almonte from 10 to 1030AM. Story Time for children ages 1-4 with a caregiver follows from 11AM to 1130AM
Parents ‘n Tots Skate happens from 11AM to Noon at 182 Bridge Street in Almonte.
Tomorrow: A Meal For All’s Free Community Breakfast takes place at 111 Church Street (the Community Presbyterian Church) in Almonte from 830-1030AM
Carleton Place:
Today: The third of a four-part information series, entitles “Family of Origin” is being presented for those who have pre-registered for the sessions from 630 to 830PM at St. Mary’s Parish in Carleton Place.
Take Note: The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities. The goal is to change the tune for people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness… because it’s cold out there. Join us on Saturday, February 22nd. Team up, fundraise, and walk.

Thursday February 20th The Embrun Panthers visit the Ottawa West Golden Knights at 720PM. The Athens Aeros are in Smiths Falls versus the Junior Bears at 815PM. The Glengarry Brigade go against the Vikings in Casselman at 830PM. Friday February 21st the Glengarry Brigade visit Embrun at 8PM. Saturday February 22nd The Smiths Falls Junior Bears visit the Carleton Place Junior Canadians at 730PM. The Embrun Panthers are in Glengarry against the Brigade at 8PM.
EOSL: It’s playoff time in the Eastern Ontario Super League; The Rivermen host the Pontiac Comets Friday February 21st at the Nick Smith Centre at 7:30PM.
