In advance of Tuesday’s (the February 18th) municipal meeting in McNab-Braeside, the Township issued a statement on the resignation of its Mayor.
Mark MacKenzie had earlier in the day served notice of his intention to resign his position with McNab-Braeside Township, effective February 28th, 2025.
Here’s Deputy Mayor Lori Hoddinott.
Mackenzie broke the news on his personal website, making his resignation document public.
It can be accessed at the following link:

Deputy Mayor Lori Hoddinott speaks directly to Township residents who may be concerned.
MacKenzie’s blog indicates this may not be the final chapter in the story: “Ironically, I will be able to explain to you better what has happened, is happening and likely will happen with the governance and administration of your Township, having resigned.”
The Deputy Mayor says formal comment may follow, once the date of MacKenzie’s announced departure is met.
Township Council’s regular meeting didn’t get underway until 649PM following an in-camera session. The meeting was over less than a hour later, having made no public mention of the day’s events.
MacKenzie’s blog poses, then answers the rhetorical question with, “It’s complicated.”
