A process that began in early December of last year culminated with Arnprior Town Council approving the 2025 Municipal Budget Monday (Feb 10th).
The Budget was adopted at a 3.25% municipal tax rate increase, maintaining contributions to Town Reserves, and allowing for support for treasured amenities like the Senior Active Living Centre and Arnprior’s library and archives as well as investing in the Physician Recruitment Committee.
Included in the robust capital budget of over $16.4 million are projects including replacement of the Town’s largest river crossing watermain (400mm), revitalization at the Nick Smith Centre involving Slab Replacement for both arena slabs, header trench, rink boards, new seating, storage and mezzanine.
Road work will see reconstruction of Edey St from Allan Drive to Edward Street, and MacDonald Street from Edey St to Mary St (including partial watermain replacement and sanitary sewer separation and upsizing).
Road Rehabilitation work will improve Vancourtland St (Elgin St to north end) and resurfacing of William St from John St to Daniel St.
Mayor Lisa McGee stated “Our consistent financial strategy has allowed the Town to invest in significant infrastructure renewal projects in 2025. Supporting the needs of the community today and planning for the future is a balancing act that this budget achieves.”
