The Arnprior Optimist Club is known for its community activities and outreach to Youth. It’s an organization with a sixty-plus year history in the Town Where the Rivers Meet, and Craig Collins is the Optimist President. He says there is no litmus test defining optimism that a candidate for membership must possess, but the applicant process is not entirely wide open. The Optimist Club’s female counterpart was Ontario’s first such, and opened in 2017. It is called the Arnprior Women’s Optimistic Club. The older, male outlet, was inaugurated in 1961- has over 30 members, and is known for its two-week winter carnival, bouncy castles, the Annual Bike Parade- and, coming before you know it, the Club’s first efforts at coordinating Arnprior’s Santa Claus Parade.
This is the President’s Club, on Oldies 107.7 Today we are speaking with Craig Collins, President of the Arnprior Optimist Club.
