The Arnprior Lions Club has at least four dozen members in Town- and in their golden yellow vests, they are easy to spot! President Ben Gardiner says in the summer time, club members get good value from their very own food truck, and people are prone to form a line without being prompted for their delicious fare. The Arnprior Lions Walk for Dog Guides is one of the signature events that the club hosts locally each May, and that’s run in association with Lions International, a global organization with 48 thousand clubs and 1.4 million Lions members. Lions International, founded by Melvin Jones in Chicago in 1917 had, as one of its original members, famed disability activist Helen Keller and has maintained a causal affiliation ever since.
