A local leader received a pleasant surprise at the Rural Municipalities Conference of Ontario annual conference in Toronto.
Christa Lowry, Mayor of Mississippi Mills, who is also serving as the ROMA Conference Chair was presented with the King Charles III Coronation Medal by Minister Lisa Thompson, Ministry of Rural Affairs.
The coronation medal is presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada or a particular province, territory, region or community, or have made outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
Lowry shared her surprise in front of the 2000 assembeld delegates at the event.
She thanks Minister Thompson, her Parliamentary Assistant Steve Pinsonneault and our own John Jordan, MPP Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston for this presentation.
