Here’s what’s going on in Arnprior and area over the next 48 hours.
Arnprior:
Today: The Arnprior Optimist Winter Carnival offers Dog Sledding and a Bonfire at Wayne Lavallee Park, from 6-8PM. There will be hot chocolate and roasted hot dogs served.

Mississippi Mills:
Take Note: The Pakenham Civitan Club proudly presents another Pakenham Frost Festival, kicking off Friday, January 17th and running through to Sunday, January 26th. There are posters around the village with all of the details, or monitor the Pakenham & District Civitan’s Facebook page for updates.
Carleton Place:
Take Note: There are now “Community Lunches” added to the events calendar in Carleton Place. These happen Tuesdays from Noon to 130PM at Zion Memorial Church, 37 Franklin Street. The next is January 21st.
The Town of Carleton Place presents “The Maywoods: John Prine Experience” in the Carleton Place Town Hall Auditorium, Saturday January 25th.
The tribute band to the late Country singer-songwriter takes its name from Prine’s hometown of Maywood, Illinois- and the Lanark County quartet that comprise it consists of Vicki Brittle, Tyler Craig, Nathan Sloniowski and Jessica Winskell.
Tickets are $30 per person. Doors open at 7PM January 25th, and the show starts at 730.

Friday January 17th Arnprior Packers are in Perth against the Blue Wings at 730PM, the Ottawa Junior Canadians are in Embrun against the Panthers at 8PM, Renfrew Junior Timberwolves take on the Hawks in Winchester at 8:15PM. Saturday January 18th the Ottawa Junior Canadians visit the Carleton Place Junior Canadians at 730PM. The Ottawa West Golden Knights travel to the Char-Lan Rec Centre to play against the Glengarry Brigade at 8PM. Sunday January 19th the Smiths Falls Junior Bears are in Richmond to play the Royals at 120PM. The Perth Blue Wings take on the Hawks in Winchester starting at 215PM. The Embrun Panthers are in Athens versus the Aeros at 230PM. The Casselman Vikings visit the Renfrew Junior Timberwolves at 7PM. The Glengarry Brigade play the Packers in Arnprior at 730PM.
EOSL: Saturday January 18th: The Arnprior Rivermen travel to the Chesterville and District Arena for a 2PM game against the host North Dundas Rockets.
