We’re down to the crunch as far as the Arnprior Optimist Winter Carnival 2025.
The event began in Canada’s Centennial year, (of 1967) and has been growing in popularity and duration ever since.
Spokesperson Chris Toner says some of the activities leave him dizzy- even as a spectator.
The skating relay races begin at 630PM, and are preceded by the Air Bounce Activity Centre.
Pizza is free for kids with a Carnival Button, and $2 a slice for adults.
The Jack Smith Memorial Hockey Tournament is a big draw from out-of-town; it’s fast-paced quality hockey with two divisions based on gender.
And, always known for providing a good time it’s the Friday Pub Night with the Riley New Band.
The Senators Ticket Raffle Winner will be chosen at Pub night.
And that takes us to Saturday- busiest day for Toner himself, and will pick up that thread on tomorrow’s Community Spotlight.
