Arnprior:
Today: Time is running out to view the winning entries in the Town of Arnprior’s Christmas Lights Contest! Winners: First Place 18 Tom Gavinski Street. Second Place, 93 Vancourtland, Third Place, 244 Allan Drive. View these and other displays located in the community. Thanks to all who entered and helped to beautify our Town. A map of locations is posted to the Arnprior website.
Take Note: Wintermission is back! With a new program, Monday Movement, headlining the campaign, there is plenty to do and see in your community this winter.
Other Wintermission activities include: Snowshoe Adventure; Walk the Halls; the halls of Arnprior District High School are open on Tuesdays from 6PM to 7:30PM for a safe walking experience. You must register through the Town’s website.
Take advantage of various programs and activities running through February.
Mississippi Mills:
On behalf of Mississippi Mills Council and Staff, we would like to wish you a very happy New Year.
Mayor Christa Lowry notes that this is a tough time of year for some Lanark County residents who are at risk of losing housing or who are experiencing homelessness. She notes the County’s Housing Assistance Program provides financial and non-financial assistance to eligible residents of up to $1,500 per year with accommodation concerns and related expenses, food cards and hygiene kits. EOJHL: League play resumes Thursday January 2nd, as the Smiths Falls Junior Bears are at the Barbara Anne Scott Arena against the Ottawa West Golden Knights at 720PM. Friday January 3rd the Richmond Royals are in Arnprior to take on the Packers at 730PM. The Glengarry Brigade travel to Embrun to engage the Panthers at 8PM. Perth Blue Wings are in Winchester against the Hawks at 815PM. Saturday January 4th, the Ottawa West Golden Knights play the Canadians in Carleton Place starting at 730PM. The Renfrew Junior Timberwolves take in the Brigade in Glengarry at 8PM. Saturday January 5th, The Carleton Place Canadians play the Royals in Richmond at 120PM. Winchester Hawks face off in Athens against the Aeros at 230PM, Embrun Panthers go up against the Timberwolves in Renfrew at 7. Perth Blue Wings visit the Arnprior Packers at 730PM, and the Blue Wings play the Ottawa Junior Canadians Tuesday January 7th at 720PM.
EOSL: Saturday January 4th: The Arnprior Rivermen travel to Fort-Colonge vs the Senior Comets at 7:30PM
