Abby Delarge is about to have the birthday of a lifetime.
The Renfrew massage therapist and self-described Swiftie will turn 25 this Saturday amongst 49,000 like-minded individuals – at the Eras Tour show at Rogers Centre in Toronto.
Delarge said she was very lucky to be chosen by Ticketmaster as a verified fan so that she could get in the queue and snag the tickets.
She’s been busily preparing.
Her first memory of hearing Taylor Swift was Love Story playing on the radio when she was about eight years old.
She begged her mom for tickets to the Fearless Tour when it came to Ottawa and lo and behold, that’s exactly what she found beneath the tree that Christmas.
And guess what?
Saturday’s show will not be the first Eras experience for Delarge – she’s already had a VIP experience at the Paris, France concert.
She found herself about three rows from the stage, certainly an unforgettable night.
She was solo traveling in Europe and bought her ticket on a website. And what happened next would make Taylor proud.
She met up with the ticket sellers and they became friends and the friendships just kept blooming at the show, where she connected with tons of fans waiting in line and enjoying the concert.
If there’s a Taylor Swift connection to an experience, there’s a good chance Delarge will be up for it.
On a solo trip to Mexico last winter, she met a fellow Swiftie with whom she developed a great friendship.
Fast forward to this spring, and she heard from said friend about a special event.
The party, complete with DJ that played Swift songs all night, was awesome, said Delarge.
Following the party, it was over to Paris for the Eras show.
Delarge is grateful for the opportunities she’s had along her Taylor Swift Journey and says the pop star’s lyrics are relateable. With each album you go on a journey with her, she said.
There’s just so much to like about her,
The Eras Tour began in March 2023, in Arizona and has consisted of 140 shows on five continents. After her six shows in Toronto, Swift heads to BC for three concerts. The tour wraps up there Dec. 8.
