UPDATE: At 11:49 a.m. police said officers have not been able to locate anyone in distress in the area, and there have been no reports or any missing/overdue people in the area. If anything new comes in, OPP will follow-up.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the Renfrew Detachment are advising the public of a large police presence in the Campbell Side Road area, between McManus Sideroad and 5th Concession North Pakenham, between Pakenham and White Lake.
“Officers, the OPP Canine Unit and the OPP Remote Piloted Aerial System are searching the area after two local residents heard calls for help from the forest around 7:30 this morning. There have been no additional reports since officers arrived,” reads a post on OPP X (formerly Twitter).
Police are asking hunters and others to avoid the area for the time being.
“If anyone knows of someone who had been in the area and is now overdue, or have any other information that could help, please contact the OPP Communications Centre at 1-888-310-1122 and refer to incident E241460038,” say OPP.
