The principal at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School in Renfrew has issued a letter to parents after a student brought a toy gun to school Monday.
Pam Dickerson said there was no imminent risk and that as soon as they became aware, the toy gun was safely secured and emergency procedures that included contacting police were followed.
In the letter emailed Monday afternoon (Oct. 7), she said the safety and well-being of students and staff are the top priorities.
The school takes all such incidents very seriously, Dickerson said, and officials have implemented measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
Parents and guardians with questions or concern should not hesitate to reach out, she said.
