The Save The Grove Again Committee held a Silent Walk through the Gillies Grove Nature Reserve Sunday morning, then plenty of voices were raised at a public meeting and strategy session that followed at Emmanuel Anglican Church Hall.
Committee President Lacey Smith says there’s a new window of opportunity that requires your immediate attention.
Smith says it’s the Galilee Centre and OMI Canada that are not getting the point of the true potential of the 20 acres in question.
She points out, whatever the price of betraying the land, the best Galilee could hope for would be to extend its mission for fifteen years- and at what cost?
The gathering heard that arguments about the good corporate citizenship of Cavanagh Homes that are being advanced by civic officials ought to be weighed against the record before opinions are rendered.
The Save the Grove Again Committee President says the attitude of inevitability is the enemy of potential, so speak now- and get your letters in.
