Bill Griese is the new coordinator of Arnprior’s Santa Claus Parade.
The former Arnprior Packer Coach assumes the mantle from the late Glenn Arthur, who, in his turn, took over from Theresa Carron who had put her stamp on the event for many years.
Griese appearance at Council is customary for this time of year, to share Santa Claus Parade logistics.
The Santa Parade organizer says the event continues to grow in size and popularity, and it looks like this year’s float total will exceed sixty entries.
As a former float participant Griese says the crowd response thrills him.
Griese anticipates adding volunteers to walk the route with the parade as its in progress. This will be a new, and added safety measure.
The Food Bank will collect donations while the Parade is happening.
Canada Post will handle getting the kids’ letter to Santa himself, and also deliver information on the Santa Claus Parade in the Town’s quarterly water bills.
Griese says all of the eight committees are tasked with their assignments, and things are looking good.
More of the traditional requests of the Town will be made closer to the actual event, but the Santa Claus Parade organizer wants to assure civic float participation.
Expect information on the 2024 Santa Claus Parade in the November Water Bills, follow the event on social media- and of course, await a future Community Spotlight on Oldies 107.7.
