As with many emigre families, first one member arrives, then others join.
Such is the case with Shahanaz, the proprietor of Arnprior’s Biryani House, whose hubby had been toiling since 2014 so the Pakistani couple could reunite in the Ottawa Valley.
She says the Town Where the Rivers Meet was equally attracted with what she had to offer it- and after tinkering somewhat with a menu concept heavy on Pakistani BBQ, she came up with her flavourful formula.
The Biryani House proprietor says things were a tough slog for the first six months, but with the menu tweak, the crowds have kept coming.
Shahanaz’ personal favourites are mango chicken and lamb shank, but her restaurant is name Biryani House for a reason.
The Biryani House proprietor believes Arnprior is poised for growth, as evidenced by the crowd the community attracts with its annual Cultural Night market, the while maintaining its charming small town atmosphere.
She extends special shoutouts to the vendor that sold the family its home- and to the restaurant’s landlord.
Shahanaz shares her joy of living here with a special first anniversary buffet, Tuesday, from 4-9PM.
Buffett highlights include a selection of their most beloved dishes, Seasonal specialties and fresh ingredients and delectable desserts. Cost is $35.99 per person, reservations are highly recommended.
Shahanaz says “Thank you for being part of our journey! We look forward to celebrating with you.”
