Milliken Garden Centre has always had a big season opening event, and the classic car show they had this past Saturday may turn out to be the perfect bookend function.
Oldies 107.7’s Tina McBane attended.
Owner John Milliken says there were so many vintage models that picking a favourite is a task that was a true challenge.
When Tina pressed John about the dream cars of his youth, he confessed to having actually owned two of them.
The show evoked the writer’s fond memories of a ’69 Impala, rusting somewhere in a farmer’s field in Kenabeeck in Northern Ontario- it’s 327 under the hood worth more than the entire frame and body to most.
John Milliken knows its always better to tour a car show on a full belly, and a popular food vendor obliged.
Of course the classic car show was just an incentive, Milliken’s is, after all, famous for its Garden Centre.
John is of course, not a car dealer; and Tina is a salesperson, not a roving reporter- but it was fun playing one on Oldies- and the duo hopes very much the customers enjoyed Saturday’s Classic Car Show, as much as they enjoyed promoting it.
