The alarming trend in the rising fatality inventory of motorcylce deaths isn’t confined to Ontario.
Around 6:37PM Sunday, September 15th, a 30-year-old motorcyclist from Gatineau struck an embankment near Meech Lake.
The motorcyclist was taken to hospital, where he was pronouced dead.
Securite Publique MRC des Collines-de-L’Outaouais has determined the driver was alone and was heading westbound on Lac Meech Road.
Police theorize that speed may have been a factor. The motorcycle involved belonged to a third party, and the victim had no driver’s licence.
A mechanical inspection of the motorbike is still to follow.
