Compared to the time it takes civic officials to work these policies through the pipeline, the five to ten minutes it will take you to respond to the Town of Carleton Place Development Permit System Survey can be considered a worthy investment.
A Development Permit System (DPS) is a land use planning tool available to Ontario municipalities that combines Zoning By-law Amendments, Minor Variances, and Site Plan Applications into one single application and approval process.
In short, it cuts the red tape before the Town can cut the red ribbon.
Although Carleton Place has been using the DPS System since 2008, the Province is updating the toolkit on what’s available, and the Town will take the opportunity to address perceived gaps to the process.
What do you like about the current DPS system? What changes would you like to see, with this process specifically, or to the Development File in general?
This survey is being conducted by J.L. Richards & Associates Ltd, on the Town’s behalf, and all information provided will be kept confidential.
Participation is voluntary, and you can withdraw at any time.
