The Opportunity Shop is celebrating its 50th Anniversary- you may have heard the adage, time flies.
Gail Okum is the Op Shop Manager. She says Sunday September 8th, there are a number of special events planned- at the shop, and on the street outside- as well as a static display at the Arnprior Museum, wherein the assistance of Curator Emily Stovel is acknowledged.
Gail says the Museum collaborated with the Opportunity Shop’s Liz Hildebrandt in putting the fascinating display together.
The display will also be of interest to students looking for somewhere to amass their volunteer hours.
Gail now picks up the thread of activities planned at the Op Shop- and outside it…
Okum says the music will keep things moving.
The Opportunity Shop pledges to keep kids entertained as you reflect
Gail Okum says Arnprior businesses have shown their support by generously donating a great number of items for the Op Shop’s fundraising auction.
The Anniversary Day wouldn’t be complete without a Fashion Show.
Gail says a raffle held in conjunction with the 50th anniversary, will, in fact, happen the following day.
The were so many donations, in fact, that the Op Shop had to split the raffle in two.
The 50th Anniversary will be marked with a special commemoration just before Noon.
The Op Shop Manager says you don’t get to be fifty without a lot of acknowledgments happening.
