The Trailside Apartments, planned for 12 Thomas Street South are taking shape.
Dennis Eberhard, of Ottawa Valley Developments GP Inc, gives us a preliminary timeline on the first structure.
The initial of a planned three structures on the lot is a four storey, with 59 one and two bedroom units.
Eberhard says developers in the smaller urban settings often build to demand, and Arnprior being no exception, he can’t at the moment predict a total number of structures for the site.
In the developer’s best scenario three apartment buildings would rise to the occasion within five years.
12 Thomas Street South had formerly been the site of Canadian Cabinet Company, a potential brownfields site that Eberhard says required less clean-up than first feared.
At the moment there are at least fourteen sub-trades involved in the construction- some of which are providing local jobs.
