Local first responders relished the chance to meet with the community and do some good over the weekend.
Acting Sergeant Brianna Roberge was thrilled to see Renfrew/Arnprior OPP’s 911 Swing for the Cause golf tournament continue to grow in its second year.
Audio PlayerRoberge says that tournament, which raised $6,100 for the Renfrew Food Bank in its first run last year, is expected to hand over close to that amount to the Arnprior Food Bank once this year’s totals are finalized.
She considers it an exciting level of support from the community and their hosts as they raise funds for a different local cause or organization each year.
Audio PlayerRoberge also notes that she wouldn’t have been able to do it alone. The success the tournament has enjoyed in its early stages is thanks to all hands at the detachment.
Audio PlayerRoberge hopes to make their third annual Swing for the Cause bigger and better as they continue to find ways to both support worthy local issues and connect with residents.
