If you’re wondering about the Fireworks Rules for Arnprior, today (Tuesday May 21st) is the last of a cluster of days around the May 2-4 weekend that you can set them off.
These three days are: the day before Victoria Day, Victoria Day itself, and the day after Victoria Day.
Victoria was the Queen of England when the British Empire was at its peak, and until the late Queen Elizabeth the Second, she was the longest-serving monarch in Commonwealth history.
Arnprior also allows private fireworks displays on the day before Canada Day (June 30th), Canada Day itself and on July 2nd.
The person setting the fireworks off must be 18 year old or over, and they cannot be discharged in an unsafe manner, nor can they create a nuisance.
If the fireworks you have purchased are classed as “Display Fireworks”, you will have to get a permit from local Fire Officials.
