Don’t be surprised to see a line-up inside and outside our local McDonald’s all Wednesday long.
May 8th is McHappy Day, raising money to ensure Ottawa Valley families with sick kids attending CHEO can stay together through the Ronald McDonald House Charity, according to Operations Supervisor Francesca Rakinic.
A portion of proceeds from any item on the menu supports the cause this Wednesday.
You can also round up your order, donate $2, $5, or $10 for a McHappy Day Heart, or pick up a pair of McHappy Day socks while supplies last, just to name a few ways that you can add your own contribution to a level of generosity that has created a marvellous head-start on fundraising in the Ottawa Valley.
Not only will important community figures, like municipal politicians, area celebrities, and our local police and fire service members, be helping out during the day, but McDonald’s staff will also be joined by a few extra special guests for the festivities.
Rakinic says the Ronald McDonald House at CHEO has made a positive impact for many local families, including her own, ensuring parents have a place to stay close by to their kids during treatment.
