Author Nick Shepherd has taken his love for corporate culture to the next level.
An Arnprior resident from 1976-1982, Nick climbed the corporate ladder in the GTA, returning to the Town Where the Rivers Meet on a part-time basis in 2004 and moving back full time in 2018.
The COVID-19 pandemic saw his writing career switch into overdrive.
After writing five technical “how to” manuals dealing with the problems and challenges of organizational culture and their potential stumbling blocks to success, Nick encountered Jim Bignal, Founder of “Great Workplace Cultures” and pilot of the “Responsible Business Project 2030”, who convinced him that writing a novel would be a great way to bring the conceptualizations to life.
The result is, “No Fun at Great Toys”, which details the struggles of new CEO “Steve” in breathing new life into a flagging family toy business.
White Pine Books is offering us a chance to meet author Nick Shepherd in person this Saturday from 2-4PM.
The Book signing follows one from author Phillippa Cranstan Baran that took place at the O’Brien Theatre on March 3rd- and could be part of a new literary trend in the Ottawa Valley.
