United Way East Ontario is again raising funds for “Move for Youth”.
Coordinator Trisha Islam explains that all you have to do is sign up, get active, and track your steps with the MoveSpring app.
Once you’ve registered, download the MoveSpring app to get started.
Steps involved include downloading the free MoveSpring app from the Apple or Google Play store.
Then enter the code “uw-centraide” to join. Create an account or log in to your account from last year.
You can bike, dance, or play sports-however you want to move!
The app will convert your activity to steps and keep tabs on your progress.
In order to assure the 100 thousand dollars in sponsor funding, United Way East Ontario is looking for 1000 participants to take part in the 15 days of activity.
If you took part in the challenge last year, you know the goal of 30 million steps was a piece of cake.
Move for Youth supports a diversity of youth-involved activities.
There’s a growing need to support youth mental health services and prevent homelessness.
Islam says funds raised go right where they are needed.
The Move for Youth Coordinator says it may seem a daunting goal, but teamwork will make it possible.
The Move for Youth initiative can be as competitive as you wish.
Trisha says kids are kids, but their challenges are different today.
