The Arnprior-McNab-Braeside Men’s Shed is changing things up for its Spring Craft Sale- it’ll be Saturday May 11th at the JAG in Braeside- but before we get to those details, spokesperson Gary McBurney gives us an update on the move to the new location.
He says the “Do It for Glenn” dinner and dance, held at the St. John Chrysostom Parish Hall April 6th was a rousing success.
The Men’s Shed is relocating from its present location on Nieman Drive, to the former Braeside Public School. McBurney estimates 100 thousand in the kitty will facilitate the move, and establish the Shed’s viability since parting ways from parent Arnprior Regional Health.
That said, 80 thousand dollars on good faith alone is a very respectable total.
The May 11th Spring Craft Sale should also serve as a “get acquainted” with the new Braeside neighbours.
The Township is lending vehicles from the municipal fleet for a companion “Touch a Truck event on the day.
As the Men’s Shed builds its inventory for the Spring Craft Sale, members are toiling to construct a repertoire of outdoorsy products.
McBurney gives us an example of a recent custom order from a little further afield than ordinary.
The Arnprior-McNab-Braeside Men’s Shed spokesperson says everyone raves about the quality of the group’s work- but it’s the fraternization that’s the driving factor.
Gary McBurney says once a man divorces his jobsite in retirement, it creates what some feel is a void inside.
The Men’s Shed Spring Craft Sale coming up is a great place to belong.
