The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority is doing a little self-promotion- for its Morris Island Conservation Area, located along the Ottawa River near the community of Fitzroy Harbour.
It’s a 47 hectare site consisting of forested woodlands and wetlands.
With 6 km of trails, the island encourages you to enjoy the best of Ontario’s weather throughout the seasons by hiking, canoeing, kayaking, dog walking, jogging, fishing, snowshoeing, or cross country skiing.
While Morris Island Conservation Area is managed by MVCA, it is jointly owned by Ontario Power Generation and the City of Ottawa.
Payment is required at the Mill of Kintail and Morris Island at a per-vehicle price.
Day Passes (valid for four hours) are 7 dollars and can be purchased at our pay machine as you enter the conservation area.
The machine takes coins and credit only.
Annual passes can be purchased online; visit the Passes page for all current pricing.
All fees support ongoing maintenance at the conservation areas.
