Police have laid charges against a 13 year-old Gatineau youth for abusive and intimidating behaviour on social media, following complaints from a peer’s parents.
Officers attempted to arrest the suspect April 14th but were blocked by the boy’s parents, so police returned with a warrant the following day.
The young suspect was arrested Monday (April 15th) about 7PM and detained in custody for a Youth Court appearance the next day.
He’s been charged with Criminal Harassment, Making threats of death or bodily harm, distributing juvenile pornography and Unauthorized weapons possession.
Police say the incidents occurred over a period of several months.
As part of the suspect’s condition of release are a social media ban, and only supervised internet access.
