Finding Nemo!
Upper Ottawa Valley OPP say a 23 year-old Whitewater Region resident has been charged in connection with the April 11th theft of tropical fish from a Beachburg restaurant (cash was also taken).
Following what police say was a “boatload of support” from the public, officers, assisted by the Community Street Crime Unit, were able to “reel in” the resident after executing a search warrant earlier today.
The fish are now safely back with their rightful owner.
The accused was caught and released, with promise to appear in Pembroke Court May 21st on charges of break, enter and theft under 5k and possession of property obtained by crime under 5k.
