Coffee Time- not the Southern Ontario franchise, but at the Pakenham Library Branch in its beautiful MacFarlane Street premises, goes this morning from 10AM to 1130; it’s a coffee hour and social that welcomes everyone (in an inviting setting) weekly.
Market Square (7 Beckwith Street) in Carleton Place will reverberate with Earthfest events Saturday during Earth Day (from 11AM to 3PM).
It’s the second annual such event, organized by the the Carleton Place Environmental Advisory Committee (CPEAC), now expanded to include even more workshops and attractions.
Learn: how to reduce household waste, start a garden, compost and recycle properly, preserve and can food, mend clothing, cook delicious plant-based meals and create an environmentally friendly watercolour painting.
There’s live musical entertainment, delicious food and refreshments (including vegan options!)
Test drive an EV (pre-registration recommended), and attend the launch of “Just Good Compost”, Carleton Place’s new compost pick-up service.

Don’t miss the Paddling Puppeteers Earth Day stopover in Carleton Place for a free performance, presented by the Town’s Recreation and Culture Department.
The event begins at 1030AM at All Nations Church.
The show is entitled, “Pluggin into Nature”, and sees young gamer Edward turned on to the natural world by
a chickadee, butterfly and frog who guide him on a path of outdoor fun and wellness.
All Nations Church is conveniently located behind the Market Square Pavilion where the main Earthfest event is taking place!
