Well, the good news is that Renfrew Victoria Hospital’s Catch the Ace Take 5 lasted twice as long this time around.
Patti Dillabough, Executive Director for the hospital’s charitable arm, was hit with a bit of déjà vu when Take Two met a similar fate to Take One, ending after Penny Haley of Douglas caught the ace of spades in Week 4, far sooner than expected.
Take 2 was able to last a little longer than its predecessor, which went two weeks before the ace was caught in the middle of February.
Dillabough laughed the situation off, reminding everyone that Penny’s $14,934 jackpot win also means important funding for the hospital.
She would end the livestream with one last note for people hoping to see Catch the Ace grow its jackpot over the course of several weeks, like in past runs.
Speaking with myFM earlier in the year, Dillabough would not rule out the possibility of a Take 3 should Take 2 also fail to run deep into the spring and summer.
