Ottawa Ward 5 Councillor Clarke Kelly is encouraging constituents to apply for grant funding under the City’s
Rural Clean Water Program.
The initiative provides funding for projects that protect surface water and groundwater quality.
If you are a landowner who is planning to do such work, it may be eligible for grants of up to $15,000 depending on the project being undertaken.
The next application deadline is May 1st.
There are 19 kinds of projects related to nutrient management, soil protection, water management, land stewardship, and education and innovation.
Farmers from rural and urban Ottawa, along with landowners within rural Ottawa, are eligible to apply. Not-for-Profits can apply in the education and innovation category.
Applications will be accepted through the LandOwner Resource Centre, which works in partnership with the three local Conservation Authorities and the City of Ottawa.
