The Carleton Place Junior Canadians are the EOJHL’s Richardson Division Champions, after a hard-fought seven game series that ended at 3:42 of the first overtime Tuesday, with a 2-1 victory over the Richmond Royals.
Richmond got on the board first on the strength of Cameron Donaldson’s goal at 1:46 of the second frame, and it looked as if the visitors would prevail until Finn Barton put the Canadians on the board with two minutes and 21 seconds to go in the third. Joe Devlin’s marker put Carleton Place into the Barkley Cup final- which will be against either the Casselman Vikings or the Ottawa West Golden Knights.
Casselman won last night in overtime to take a 3-2 series lead in that set.
