It’s the biggest maple festival in Ontario, and the Lanark & District Maple Syrup Producers’ Association is responsible for the local portion, April 6th and 7th.
Held annually on the first weekend of April, Maple Weekend is a fun, free, family-friendly event celebrating the harvest of one of Ontario’s sweetest crops.
LDMSPA President, Leann Thompson notes this year there are 14 maple syrup producers participating in Lanark & District and the event runs from 10AM to 4PM both days.
Participating sugarbushes are: Blair Brothers Maples (Westport); Conboy Maple (Sharbot Lake); East Slope Maple Products (Fermoy); Fortune Farms (Almonte); Fulton’s Sugar Bush & Maple Shop (Pakenham); Golden Moment Farm (Athens); Jameswood Maple (Lanark Highlands); McEwen Acres (Portland); Oliver’s Mapleworks (Perth); Ostler Maple Farm (Mallorytown); Temple’s Sugar Bush (Lanark); Thompson’s Sweet Retreat (Clayton); Thompsontown Maple Products (Clayton) and Wheelers Pancake House & Sugar Camp (McDonald’s Corners).
