There’s no shortage of talented, accomplished women in Arnprior and on this International Women’s Day, one of our most prolific business owners will be sharing some of her wisdom with peers.
Alicia Ott, who co-owns two successful Arnprior businesses – Bee Savvy Fine Foods and Steelheads and Strikes – is among the featured presenters at a Friday night event at the Quality Inn.
The mother of two and wife is also a part-time Professor of Retail Management at Algonquin College, shaping the next generation of business leaders with practical insights and expertise.
At Friday night’s event, she expects to discuss her career journey.
She started out her career in post-secondary education administration and while she described it as a “fantastic job” she realized she needed to further explore her creative side.
Among the advice she’ll share Friday night is about being clear about needs.
She’s grateful for the opportunity to celebrate women.
Also speaking at the Upper Ottawa Valley Chamber of Commerce IWD Business After Hours event are Sandra Paro from the Centre for Women’s Enterprise and Larkin Mosscrop from Women in Nuclear Canada.
The event begins at 430 p.m. Friday afternoon at Arnprior’s Quality Inn. Cost of admission is $25 for UOV chamber members, and $35 for non-members.
