The Renfrew County District School Board (RCDSB) is delighted to announce the appointment of Karthi Rajamani as the new Trustee for the Petawawa area, succeeding the late Bryon Morris. The swearing-in ceremony took place during the Board Meeting held on February 27th, 2024.
With a distinguished career in her role as the CEO of the Pembroke Library, Karthi Rajamani brings a wealth of experience and a fervent commitment to fostering literacy, diversity, and inclusive environments. Her expertise in governance, libraries, education, and data management positions her as a valuable addition to the RCDSB Board of Trustees, offering unique insights and skills.
Expressing her enthusiasm, Karthi Rajamani stated, “I am honored to join the Renfrew County District School Board as a Trustee. I am excited to contribute to the board’s efforts to inspire student achievement through dynamic education, an inclusive environment with a focus on student well-being.”
Throughout her career, Rajamani has actively engaged in community partnerships and received recognition, including the Renfrew County Warden’s Award. Her involvement in committees such as the Local Immigration Partnership program, the Ontario Library Association, and the City of Pembroke’s Diversity Committee underscores her dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The RCDSB’s Board of Trustees, consisting of eight representatives from Renfrew County municipalities, an Indigenous Trustee, and two Student Trustees, plays a crucial role in maintaining a focus on student achievement, well-being, and equity. They actively participate in making policy decisions that benefit the entire jurisdiction, encompassing each constituency. Karthi Rajamani’s appointment is expected to enhance the Board’s commitment to these essential principles.
